Hiring Databases: Women in Animation

For more than 25 years, Women in Animation have been advocating for gender parity in the animation industry. In addition to their groundbreaking research and artist support programs, WIA have created the WIA Talent Database – your one-stop shop for hiring women, trans and non-binary talent for animated projects.

"While studios around the world have heard our call for balance and pledged to champion diversity, the reality is that most animation hires are influenced by word of mouth and proximity to the hiring parties. Increasing the visibility and accessibility of women will make it harder to deny our existence."

With a goal of reaching gender parity in animation by 2025, Women in Animation has created a number of tools and resources to support employers who seek to hire more women, trans and non-binary professionals. An accessible, helpful resource we recommend is the WIA Talent Database, which features a diverse pool of talent.

From the WIA Talent Database site: “Employers will be able to filter our database based on a number of animation-specific hiring factors including: a gallery view which can be used to compare art styles side by side, feature vs series experience, CG pipeline experience, and even contact info and availability from candidates that choose to disclose that information.”

Learn more about the WIA Talent Database at the link below, and submit an access request today. A staff member will respond to your request for access within 48 hours.
